UP: Teenage girl shot dead for making complaint against molestersKANPUR: A 17-year-old girl, nursing aspirant, was allegedly shot dead for making a complaint against molesters in Banda district on late Friday night.
The girl was identified as Vandana Raikwar daughter of Raju Raikwar, a native of Mahoba district. She was allegedly shot dead in sleep by the molesters on late Friday night, a police officer told Media.

The girl had filed a molestattion complaint against the attackers four days ago.The police detained three persons for questioning soon after the murder came to light in the late night hours of Friday, while the main accused is on run. The family of the deceased girl stated that the victim, preparing for nursing exam was putting in the rented accommodation in Noniya Mohal Basti in Katra locality of the district. She had filed a complaint against the accused four days ago with the local police alleging that he and his aides used to stalk and traumatise her but no action was taken by the police.
The elder sister of the teenage girl demanded on Saturday that the culprits be hanged. “Merely arresting culprits and sending them jail can’t bring my sister back. We want justice. They should be hanged,” girl’s sister told The victim’s sister added that even though she had complained to the police about being subjected to “abuse and vulgar comments” by the molester and his aides, no serious action had been taken by the police. “They were questioned only once by the police on her complaint at Kotwali police station, after which they started venting their anger by showering abuses on her whenever they liked,” she said.
Shriniwas, the station house officer Kotwali police station said, Three aides of the main accused have been detained and their interrogation is underway. Separate teams have been formed to nail down the main accused, who is on run. Further investigations are underway in this regard.”
