The CBI on Wednesday booked Kolkata-based R.P. Infosystems and its directors for allegedly cheating a consortium of 10 banks, led by Canara Bank, of ₹515.15 crore.
Among those named as accused in the FIR are company directors Shivaji Panja, Kaustuv Ray and Vinay Bafna, besides vice-president (finance) Debnath Pal. “Searches have been conducted at six places,” said a CBI official.
It is alleged that the firm availed loan facilities using fake stock, receivables and debtors’ statements.
