Refuses to comment on luxury car row; says case under investigation
Actor Amala Paul on Tuesday inaugurated the Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital at Rajiv Gandhi Signal here with a pledge to donate her eyes.
The actor opened the facility in the presence of Kala Satish, Medical Director, Dr.Agarwal’s Group of Eye Hospitals along with Jaya Latha, Head of Medical Services, Dr.Agarwal’s Eye Hospital.
“It gives me immense pleasure to inaugurate the new hospital at Puducherry and also work towards eradicating preventable blindness. I strongly believe that this facility would be a boon to the people here. I take this opportunity to thank the hospital management for providing 50 free eye surgeries on my behalf.”
Kala Satish, Medical Director, Dr.Agarwal’s Group of Eye Hospitals, said that the mission of the hospital was to bridge the accessibility gap and emphasise the need to provide quality eye care for the people of UT.
Jaya Latha, Head of Medical Services, said that the new centre will serve as a one-stop solution for all eye care needs.
The actor who had recently courted controversy for allegedly using fake documents to register her luxury car in Puducherry drove down for the inauguration in the same vehicle, which had caused her trouble following a tax evasion case.
However, she refused to comment on the controversy. “The matter is under investigation, so I will not comment on it,” she said.
