YSRCP president and Opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday held his ongoing Praja Sankalpa Padayatra in Podalakuru, Toderu, Uppuduthuru, Chatagatla and Marupuru villages in Sarvepalli Assembly constituency limits in Nellore district here.
Along the way, he met elderly people, students, persons with disabilities and the members of different communities. They gave representations to him.
Mr. Jagan promised to look into the demand made by Vaddera community leaders who wanted their category to be changed from BC-A to ST. They said that this was necessary to uplift their community which remained backward all these decades because of lack of support.
The leaders of the ASHA community health workers’ association also submitted a representation to Mr. Jagan seeking his support for ensuring minimum wage of ₹6,000 per month.
