As a novel initiative in the education sector, the preparation of the master plans was preceded by a training programme at various levels.

In the first phase, a workshop was conducted for heads of the schools and PTA presidents. It was followed by a master plan workshop for all teachers. School-level group meetings were convened for preparing draft plans and panchayat-level education committees met for addition and compilation of the draft plans.

The master plans were finalised at these panchayat-level meetings attended by people’s representatives, faculties of the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), heads of schools and Sarva Siksha Abhiyan functionaries.

The master plans outline activities to be completed in a time-bound manner for improving educational standards of the schools. They record all details including cooperation and support required for the activities, financial assistance, period of completion and estimated cost. The master plans were handed over at a function held at the Madayi Government Boys Higher Secondary School here on Monday.
